Did you know that volunteers from Annunciation Parish provide 2 meals a month to the Sharing Community Soup Kitchen in South Yonkers? Located 5 miles from Crestwood where many are hungry and homeless. For the past 15 years volunteers from Annunciation have been cooking an assigned meal in their home and delivering it to the refrigerator in Convent Room 2. Volunteers agree to cook either once a month or every other month. Some are assigned pasta, while others prepare chicken or meatloaf. We even have a few bakers! This lovely tradition of hard work and dedication has continued to grow. Currently there are over 100 volunteer cooks.

In addition, we are always looking for more cooks as the Sharing Community is feeding more and more each day ... in the summer they feed up to 250 people a day. We thank all the volunteers who have been helping to provide a meal to those in need ... and we welcome any new volunteers who would like to share in this very simple, important and rewarding task!
